Magnetic Press has announced its Spring 2027 graphic novel lineup featuring diverse and acclaimed international titles aimed at captivating English-speaking audiences.

The press release follows:

Media Release – Oni Press and Magnetic Press – the Eisner Award-winning imprint celebrating prestige graphic novels from around the globe since 2013– are proud to unveil Magnetic Press’s Spring 2027 slate of incredible international new releases, sure to delight English-reading audiences experiencing them for the first time.

This January, the highly acclaimed, award-winning superhero extraordinaire returns with forty-eight all-new pages of format-bending adventure in Mister Invincible Redux from French cartoonist Pascal Jousselin. Panel-hopping battles pave the way for lucha extrema in February’s Loba Loca, a mythology coming-of-age story set in the world of MFKZ by creator Guillaume “Run” Renard and illustrator Guillaume Singelin (Frontier). In March, physical fights pale in comparison to the challenge of changing minds in Luis NCT (Sleepers)’s Wahcommo: Kaya, a standalone sequel following a fierce warrior woman who defies her patriarchal society’s expectations. March also sees the release of superstar artist Juanjo Guarnido (Blacksad) and Alain Ayrole’s (Garulfo) witty A Scoundrel in the New World, following the exploits of a Spanish con artist on a treasure-seeking adventure through the newly-discovered Americas of the late 1400s. In April, readers are invited on a high-stakes road trip in Tunnels by award-winning French cartoonist Michaël Sanlavaille (Lastman, Banana Sioule). Fantasy and magic continue to take center stage later in April as José Luis Munuera (Fraternity)’s Peter Pan of Kensington reimagines J.M. Barrie’s 1902 Peter Pan origin story, The Little White Bird, in a whimsically dark adaptation. Origins play a crucial role this May as a stranger discovers the primitive society he’s joined once had a space-traveling history in the critically acclaimed omnibus of the science-fiction trilogy Ter by multiple award-winning author Rodolphe (Trent) and English-language debut artist Christophe Dubois (Le Cycle d’Ostruce). Science fiction with a Tokusatsu twist takes over June in Italian artist and designer of Golem, LRNZ’s Astrogamma, where an insectoid apocalyptic event consumes humanity and calls upon a giant Sentai hero.

“This Spring slate is packed with excellence in not only sequential storytelling, but outside-the-box storytelling as well,” says Director of Publishing for Magnetic Press Mike Kennedy. “As diverse as these settings, characters, and titles may be from each other, they all share the distinction of being at the top of their respective categories. Be they proven award-winners or celebrated by fans in other languages, their unique style and appeal are unmistakable. We’re beyond excited for readers to discover each of these titles from artists we’ve published previously as well as amazing talent new to Magnetic Press. This is going to be an amazing Spring, and every title is blazing hot.”

Magnetic Press’ Spring 2027 graphic novel catalog – available for order via the Oni Press listings at Penguin Random House – will include:

Mister Invincible Redux

Mister Invincible is a playful, inventive comic series by Pascal Jousselin starring a superhero whose power isn’t strength or speed but the ability to manipulate the comic page itself. He steps between panels, reaches across gutters, and bends time and space by treating the layout as his battlefield. The stories mix slapstick humor with clever format tricks, creating adventures that are as much puzzles as they are superhero tales, appealing to both kids and adults who enjoy seeing the medium turned inside out.

Find Wahcommo: KAYA on Amazon!

Written and illustrated by Luis NCT

Auto-generated description: A stylized red-toned illustration of a person wrapped in ribbons with text that reads Wahcommo: Kaya and Luis NCT on a black background.

Wahcommo: Kaya is the direct sequel to Spanish cartoonist Luis NCT (Killadelphia, Empty Zone)’s acclaimed graphic novel Wahcommo. It continues the story of Kaya, the fierce young warrior who defied her tribe’s patriarchal traditions to become a “Seeker.”

In this standalone adventure, Kaya deals with the fallout of her previous quest. Having returned to her tribe with the treasures of the North, she must now navigate the political and social consequences of her success. The book maintains Luis NCT’s signature “painterly” art style, blending high-fantasy adventure with a grounded exploration of cultural shift, legacy, and the weight of being a pioneer in a world resistant to change.

Find A Scoundrel in the New World on Amazon!

Written by Alain Ayroles
Illustrated by Juanjo Guarnido

A Scoundrel in the New World

A Scoundrel in the New World is a masterwork of European comics that serves as a spectacular (if unofficial) sequel to the seventeenth-century Spanish picaresque literary novel The Swindler (El Buscón) by Francisco de Quevedo.

The story follows the rogue Don Pablos of Segovia, a low-born but incredibly cunning scoundrel who travels to the New World (the “Spanish West Indies”) to escape his miserable past and find fortune. The narrative is framed as Pablos is interrogated by colonial authorities in Cusco, where he recounts his odyssey from the gutters of Spain to the highest palaces of the Americas. His journey takes him through the Andes and the Amazon as he chases the mythical El Dorado, constantly shifting identities from beggar to nobleman in order to survive.

Find Tunnels on Amazon!

Written and illustrated by Michaël Sanlavaille

Tunnels

Tunnels is a high-octane road trip adventure exploring family dynamics, grief, and mental health in a fantasy scenario from award-winning French cartoonist Michaël Sanlaville (Lastman, Banana Sioule).

A mundane family road trip sees a couple and their three daughters (Jolène, Samantha, and baby Mila) traveling in their Volvo station wagon toward a summer vacation. The narrative shifts abruptly when the family passes through a series of tunnels to find themselves in a distorted, nightmarish landscape. They are thrust into a deadly, high-speed chase, pursued by mysterious, black-helmeted drivers in futuristic racing cars. What starts as a claustrophobic survival thriller, described as a blend of Mad Max, Steven Spielberg’s Duel, and Wacky Races, evolves into a poignant exploration of family bonds and the psychological weight of loss. Sanlaville utilizes a nervous, cinematic art style to capture the relentless sense of motion, culminating in a surprising final act that shifts the story’s scale from action-adventure to an emotional family drama.

Find Peter Pan of Kensington on Amazon!

Written by José Luis Munuera and J. M. Barrie
Illustrated by José Luis Munuera

Peter Pan of Kensington

Peter Pan of Kensington is a lush graphic novel by José Luis Munuera (Fraternity) that serves as a “prequel” adaptation of J. M. Barrie’s classic work. Rather than retreading the famous Peter and Wendy, Munuera adapts the lesser-known 1902 text The Little White Bird, where Peter Pan first appeared as an infant-like “between-thing” who escaped his human life to live in London’s Kensington Gardens.

The story follows six-year-old Maimie Mannering, who becomes trapped in the gardens after lock-up. As night falls, the park transforms into a magical and often perilous realm ruled by fairies and talking animals. Mannering is rescued by Peter Pan, a wild and mercurial boy who can fly but lacks human empathy. While Peter tries to entice her to stay forever in his “imaginary island” within the park, Mannering struggles with the terrifying reality of the supernatural world and her desperate desire to return to her mother. Munuera uses a gorgeous, painterly style to capture the whimsical yet dark “Gothic-Victorian” atmosphere of Barrie’s original vision, focusing on themes of childhood innocence, the cruelty of memory, and the thin veil between imagination and reality.

Find Ter on Amazon!

Written by Rodolphe
Illustrated by Christophe Dubois

Ter

Collect the entire trilogy of writer Rodolphe and artist Christophe Dubois’s critically acclaimed science-fiction series Ter in a single omnibus volume! The series is a blend of “medieval-futurism” and high-concept speculative fiction that begins as a mystery and evolves into a grand space opera.

The story begins on a strange, lush planet called Ter, where a primitive society lives among the ruins of inexplicable, ancient technology. The narrative kicks off when a young grave robber named Pip discovers a naked, mute man sleeping inside a tomb. This stranger, nicknamed Mandor (or “Main d’Or” for the hand-shaped tattoo on his arm), possesses an uncanny, instinctive ability to repair complex mechanical objects that the locals treat as relics or magic. As Mandor regains his speech and integrates into the village of Bas Courtil, he is increasingly viewed as a messianic figure. The trilogy follows his quest to uncover his own origins, eventually revealing that the “planet” Ter is actually a massive, decaying generation ship, the Jupiter, and its inhabitants are the descendants of space travelers who have forgotten their history and turned their technological environment into a world of myth and religion.

This omnibus edition contains the entire trilogy in a single volume.

Astrogamma

Written and illustrated by LRNZ

Astrogamma

Astrogamma is a visual experiment in science fiction by the Italian artist and designer of Golem, Lorenzo Ceccotti, better known as LRNZ.

The story is set in a world grappling with a bizarre biological and metaphysical crisis. It follows three main characters whose lives intersect during an apocalyptic event triggered by the appearance of “Astrogamma,” a mysterious, godlike sentai entity of energy. As giant insectoid creatures and strange phenomena begin to consume the city, the narrative shifts between a gritty, street-level survival horror and a grand, philosophical exploration of evolution and the end of humanity. It is a hallmark of LRNZ’s signature style that blends manga influences, heavy industrial design, and fluid, cinematic action.
