Originally launched as a webcomic in 2009, reMIND quickly built an audience of over a million readers thanks to its richly detailed artwork, cinematic storytelling, and emotionally engaging characters. The series, which blends imaginative worldbuilding with themes of friendship, loyalty, and identity, was eventually self-published in 2011, making reMIND: The Complete Saga a 15th-anniversary edition.

The story follows Sonja, a lighthouse keeper and inventor living on a remote island with her cat, Victuals. When Victuals mysteriously disappears and later returns carrying the brain of an intelligent lizard-creature from a hidden underwater kingdom, Sonja is drawn into a dangerous world of ancient civilisations, scientific experiments, and buried secrets beneath the sea.
Known for his work on Kung Fu Panda 2, Kung Fu Panda 3, The Croods, and Captain Underpants, Brubaker brings an animation-inspired sense of storytelling and visual energy to every page. This new edition also includes exclusive bonus material showcasing his creative process, from early sketches to final painted artwork. Since reMind, he has continued self-publishing additional series, including a 1000+ page adventure graphic novel series, Sithrah, and a gothic comedy, Phobos.
“It’s not often we get a chance to showcase talent like the wonderful Jason Brubaker, so I’m thrilled to not only help bring this project to life, but to share his unique vision for untold comic fans to enjoy,” said Jake Devine, editor of reMIND: The Complete Saga. “Jason’s work brings to mind the likes of other Titan Comics creators such as Norm Konyu and Cynthia von Buhler, as someone whose eye-catching and distinctive art style showcases them as one of the modern greats in comic storytelling. You absolutely won’t want to miss this reMIND!”
The series has received significant recognition over the years, including the Xeric Award in 2010, placement on the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) Great Graphic Novels for Teens list in 2012, and an Eisner Award nomination in 2020 for Macroverse’s TapStory adaptation.
reMIND: The Complete Saga is on sale on October 13, 2026. Pre-order it now from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and Forbidden Planet for the UK and Europe.

From award-winning graphic novelist and former DreamWorks Animation artist Jason Brubaker — known for his work on Kung Fu Panda 2, Kung Fu Panda 3, The Croods, and Captain Underpants—comes reMIND: The Complete Edition.
This beautifully produced deluxe graphic novel collects the beloved all-ages sci-f webcomic adventure into one stunning oversized volume, featuring brand-new cover art and exclusive bonus material.
Sonja is a lighthouse keeper, a gifted mechanic, and an inventor. She lives a quiet life on a remote island with her cat, Victuals. When Victuals vanishes without explanation and then unexpectedly returns, something has changed. The cat now carries the brain of a strange, intelligent lizard-creature from a hidden underwater kingdom.
What follows is a mystery that spirals from the intimate - a girl trying to understand what happened to her companion - into something far larger: a conflict involving brain transplantation experiments, an ancient civilization of lizard-men living beneath the sea, and the dangerous ambitions of those who wield unchecked power. Sonja must navigate a world she didn’t know existed, protect the people she loves, and confront questions about faith, loyalty, and what it means to truly know someone.
reMIND was created by Jason Brubaker during his time as a Visual Development Artist at DreamWorks Animation, where he worked on films such as Kung Fu Panda 2, Kung Fu Panda 3, The Croods, and Captain Underpants.
The graphic novel originally launched as a webcomic in 2009, quickly drawing an audience of over a million readers thanks to its richly detailed, animation-quality artwork and emotionally engaging storytelling. reMIND: The Complete Edition brings the full story together in a single volume for the first time, presented as an oversized deluxe hardcover. This edition also features exclusive behind-the-scenes material, showcasing Brubaker’s creative process—from early thumbnails and layouts to pencils, inks, and final color work.
The project has earned significant recognition, including the Xeric Award in 2010, a place on the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) Great Graphic Novels for Teens list in 2012, and an Eisner Award nomination in 2020 for Macroverse’s TapStory digital adaptation.
