While updating some bags and boards today I discovered an interesting piece of trivia. Tales To Astonish #101 announced that The Hulk would be getting his own title. However, it also said the Sub-Mariner would be moving to Tales Of Suspense.

The stories that appeared in Iron Man And Sub-Mariner #1 would have appeared in Tales Of Suspense #100, but Tales Of Suspense #99 announced you would have to “wait and see” what Iron Man’s next appearance would be. Sometime after Tales Of Suspense #99, the decision was made to not continue Tales Of Suspense and instead create the Iron Man And Sub-Mariner #1 one-shot.

It would make sense that if the original plan was to have a Tales Of Suspense #100 featuring Iron Man and Sub-Mariner, the first issue of Captain America would have been a #1 instead of #100.
